Natokinase – An enzyme for blood reduction.
Natokinase is an enzyme isolated from fermented soybeans. It is a natural anticoagulant and, therefore, can be used to prevent cardiovascular diseases.
What is natucinase?
Natokinase is one of the many enzymes found in a Japanese soy meal called Natto. The soybeans are boiled for this purpose and then fermented with the help of a particular bacterial Gethealthyfreedom strain (Bacillus subtilis). In order to metabolize soy or soy protein, bacteria form the enzyme nattokinase, a protein that consists of 275 amino acids.
At first, it was thought that Natocinase belonged to the enzyme group of the kinases, hence the label. Later, however, it was found that the enzyme belongs to the protease group. The proteins are divided, dividing them into smaller building blocks.
